A senior security source in the Ministry of Interior stated on Saturday that the police has launched wide-ranging campaigns to seize unlicensed motorbikes after they were used in several terrorist operations recently, including Friday’s attack on the Mar Mina Church in Helwan.
The General Traffic Administration inspected motorbike riders on highways, ring roads, main streets and squares to ensure the validity of their traffic licenses and withdrew unlicensed motorbikes immediately, the source told the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The source stressed that the traffic and security campaigns will continue all over the country, aiming to prevent disorder to public security and achieve traffic discipline on Egyptian streets.
