A security source said that the Interior Ministry identified the Cairo Security Directorate bomber.
The identification came two hours after the explosion, according to the ministry.
The ministry also said that it will release the bomber's identity and affiliation to the public soon.
A car loaded with explosives attempted to storm the Cairo Security Directorate building on Friday morning, leaving four people dead and 76 others injured.
