Police troops dispersed protests by nursing students outside the Cabinet’s building on Qasr al-Aini street on Sunday.
The demonstrators had blocked traffic on the street to protest the government’s failure to appoint them.
Police forcibly dispersed the protesters and arrested several participants before reopening the road.
The area has had recurrent protests by master's degree holders who have also demanded government employment.
Egypt's unemployment rate inched down to 12.7 percent in the second quarter of 2015, from 12.8 percent in the first quarter and below the 13.3 percent recorded for the same period last year, the government’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said in August.
