A police conscript was wounded on Friday by gunshots fired by unidentified assailants south of Arish, North Sinai.
The incident comes hours after a police officer was killed and two others were wounded in an IED bombing that targeted their armoured vehicle in the same city.
Sinai has become a battleground between Egyptian security and Islamic State affiliates since the ouster of the former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Attacks on security and counter-offensives by army and police has left hundreds dead on both sides.
