PM strips 3 expatriates of Egyptian citizenship for joining foreign militaries

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail issued a decision on Wednesday to strip three Egyptian expatriates of their citizenship after they joined the military service of foreign countries without a prior permit from the Egyptian Defense Ministry.

 
The three are Mohamed Atta al-Kahlout, Sameh Atta al-Kahlout and Mohamed Ali Abu Agamy.
 
Article 16 of the Egyptian Nationality Law strips Egyptians of their citizenship if they join the military service of foreign countries without a prior permit from the defense minister.
