Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s participation in the second edition of the Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg city provides opportunities to enhance consultation between Russia and African countries on how to address common challenges.
Madbouly made the remarks on Thursday during the cabinet’s weekly meeting in New Alamein city.
The premier lauded the positive results of the meeting between President Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at the Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg.
Madbouly reviewed the outcome of his visit to Italy on Sunday to take part in the International Conference on Migration and Development on behalf of President Sisi.
The prime minister explained Egypt’s participation in this conference shows its keenness to face illegal migration, through finding radical solutions to deal with it based on deep understanding of the causes of the problem.
He also highlighted the outcome of his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, where the two sides expressed an interest in advancing cooperation between the two countries in priority areas, especially as Italy is Egypt’s first trading partner in the European Union.
