PM satisfied with security conditions

Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy said on Tuesday that his government took over in very difficult security, political and economic circumstances.

“The main problem was security,” he said pointing to the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins and the Kerdasa violence. “The second problem was the absence of stability and the economic situation.”

In a press conference following a cabinet meeting, Beblawy added that he is now completely satisfied with the security situation.

“Many thanks to the police who are committed to restraint and thanks for the full support of the Armed Forces,” he said.

Beblawy also said that the government managed the shortages in gasoline and other basic goods, increased investment allocations, adopted a minimum and maximum wage policy, and issued a law to hold state officials accountable in order to prevent corruption.

Beblawy also congratulated the Egyptian people for the new year and wished them a better future.
