Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb left on Sunday to Washington DC representing Egypt at the US-Africa summit, which will kick off on Monday.
The PM's delegation includes the ministers of finance, trade and investment.
Mehleb will deliver a speech highlighting Egypt’s role in achieving sustainable development in Africa and developing the continent's resources.
The delegation will also hold several meetings with other African nations on the sidelines of the conference to discuss Egypt's political developments.
Egypt has been allowed to participate in the summit after its African Union membership was restored in June.
Cairo's membership was suspended after the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsy in 2013.
