PM to make final decision on date for stock exchange reopening

Prime Minister Essam Sharaf is to take a final decision soon on the date for reopening the Egyptian stock exchange.

The exchange is expected to resume this week, as the stock exchange faces the threat of being dropped from international indices if it remains closed until Thursday.

Sharaf has met with economics expert Hazem al-Biblawy in order to form an advisory committee to ensure a safe resumption of the exchange. The stock exchange has been closed since 28 January.

Stock brokers disapproved of some committee members and said they had no experience in financial markets.
