PM introduces new post to strengthen cooperation with African countries

Prime Minister Essam Sharaf has ordered the creation of a new foreign affairs post to bolster cooperation with African countries to restore Egypt's role as a leader in the continent.

The new deputy foreign minister of African affairs is an example of recent moves made by the Egyptian government to renew relations with African countries. 

Sharaf is scheduled to visit Uganda and Ethiopia on Wednesday for discussions about Nile Basin issues, development and infrastructure plans, agricultural and industrial projects and economic cooperation.
