Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Sunday hailed strong relations between Egypt and the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB Group) that are marked with a successful and extended history of joint projects.
The IDB Group comes among Egypt’s top development partners and deemed a strategic partner of Egypt in all phases, the premier said, adding that the group sparing no effort to provide funding for projects carried out by the state, a stance which is highly appreciated by the Egyptian government.
Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting with IDB Group Chairman Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser to discuss means of fostering cooperation between Egypt and the bank.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Said and Egypt’s Governor at the IBD Group, Minister of International Cooperation Rania al Mashaat.
The planning minister praised maintained contact and coordination with the IDB Group in various cooperation files, which resulted in carrying out a number of projects in several domains and sectors.
She highlighted the role of the bank in supporting the private sector, which is considered a key partner of the state in different fields.
Mashaat highlighted a set of cooperation projects with the IDB in the domains of transportation, noting that the financing of the bank of Egyptian projects contributes to reducing the funding gap of these projects.
Head of the IDB Group praised support provided to the bank by the Egyptian state as well as the joint mega projects carried out in Egypt.
