PM affirms support for civil society’s role in development

CAIRO, Feb 2 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW), stressing the importance of the role played by civil society in job creation, economic empowerment, and poverty reduction.

During a meeting with the alliance’s board members, attended by Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy, Madbouly conveyed President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s appreciation for the alliance’s efforts in assisting vulnerable communities.

He highlighted the government’s support for initiatives focused on financial inclusion and employment, ensuring long-term social mobility.

With Ramadan approaching, the alliance plans to assist over 5 million families through food aid, financial assistance, and essential supplies. New projects will focus on industrial development, small business growth, and vocational training to create long-term employment.

Morsy praised the alliance’s impact on job creation and early childhood education, while also acknowledging its humanitarian contributions to Gaza.

Alliance Chairman Khaled Abdel Aziz described Egypt’s civil society model as one of the most effective globally, with expanded efforts in food security, education, and healthcare aimed at easing financial burdens for low-income families. Initiatives in agriculture will help small farmers move toward self-sufficiency.

The meeting reviewed the alliance’s humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza, including over 57,000 tons of aid worth three billion LE, with additional convoys being prepared.

Looking ahead, Ramadan initiatives will include over 11 million meals, 4.5 million food boxes, and financial aid for 35,000 families. Plans for Eidul Adha will focus on meat distribution, gifts for children, and additional financial support for struggling families.

With expanded social welfare, economic empowerment, and humanitarian aid programs, the alliance continues to complement government efforts to improve living conditions for millions across Egypt.
