Planning ministry holds workshop on Egypt’s regional program

Deputy Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Kamali inaugurated a workshop on exchanging government expertise in implementing international programs.

The workshop, organized by the planning ministry in cooperation with USAID, will review the regional program of Egypt and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development as well as the economic governance program.

Kamali underlined the importance of the regional program and its link to structural reform, expounding that the regional program is a national program designed by the Egyptian government and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

He said Egypt was the fourth country to lay down a regional program with the organization.

He noted that the five-pronged regional program focused on 35 projects, adding that the program allows Egypt to benefit from the organization’s technical assistance.

The program focuses on sustainable and comprehensive economic growth, innovation and digital transformation, governance and combating corruption, statistics and sustainable development.
