Pick-up, train collide in Giza, no injuries: Railway Authority

The Egyptian National Railway Authority (ENRA) revealed that a pick-up truck collided with a train at railroad crossing No. 49 at al-Reqa and Kafr Amar station in Giza on Wednesday, without causing injuries among the passengers.

Head of the ENRA Ashraf Raslan clarified that the driver ignored the instructions at the railway crossings and collided the back of the pick-up truck with the air-conditioned train No. 78 on traveling on the Aswan-Cairo line.

The collision resulted in the disruption of the train’s engine, which was replaced with another one, and then the train resumed its voyage after a 55-minute delay.

The ENRA urged pedestrians and the drivers of vehicles and motorcycles to abide by traffic instructions while passing through the railroad crossings in order to protect their lives.
