Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb on Tuesday Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, and a high-level ecclesiastical delegation at the headquarters of Al-Azhar Sheikhdom,
They arrived to congratulate the Grand Imam and all Muslims for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
The delegation wished his eminence good health and wellness, and for Egypt and the Egyptians continued security and stability, and that these occasions will always be a means to strengthen friendly relations.
The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar expressed his happiness at the visit, wishing his Christian fellows their continued health and wellness, and of Egypt’s continued prosperity.
He stressed that religious holidays and occasions are a good opportunity to communicate efforts to confront fierce attacks against Egyptian society, morals and values.
