Thirty-three years after the release of the beloved family classic “Home Alone” (1990), the film’s lead actor Macaulay Culkin has finally received a star in his honor at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Canadian actress Catherine O’Hara, who played his mother in Home Alone, was present during the celebration honoring him and gave a speech discussing the actor’s long journey in the years since ‘Home Alone’.
Culkin revealed that the reason why his promising career was cut so short was that, following childhood, he suffered from addiction and other troubles that got in the way of developing his acting.
Home Alone has since gone down as one of the most beloved family movies of all time, and is a staple of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
It co-starred the likes of Kieran Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern, and John Candy.
