
The Governor of Giza Adel al-Naggar on Sunday visited Egypt to participate in the launch of the largest comprehensive humanitarian aid convoy to support the Gaza Strip, implemented by Egypt’s Tahya Misr Fund, in the People’s Square in the New Administrative Capital.
This comes to implement orders from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to support the Palestinian people.
The attendees witnessed from the People’s Square the convoys of comprehensive humanitarian aid trucks coming from various Egyptian governorates, to support the people of Palestine.
The convoy includes more than 460 trucks, whose load exceeded 7,200 tons of food support and all necessary needs and medical supplies to reach Gaza Strip, especially with the coming of Ramadan.
It also included medical supplies and essential medicines, as well as basic dry food items, in addition to a variety of beverages and other essential food items.
The aid procession further included large quantities of tents capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions, and huge quantities of various clothes, to meet the needs of all age groups, in addition to quilts, blankets, carpets, personal hygiene items and shelter bags.
The Giza Governor said that this initiative comes out of Egypt’s continuous support for the Palestinian people, upon President Sisi’s orders.
Naggar praised the role played by the Tahya Misr Fund in cooperation with civil society organizations and governmental institutions and agencies to support development efforts and provide humanitarian aid in all parts of Egypt.
The relief efforts provided by the fund come as part of Egypt’s vital important role in alleviating the suffering of those in need and maximizing the role of civil society in various fields.
The launch event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk, Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities Sherif al-Sherbiny, Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Minister of Supply Sherif Farouk, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, various businessmen, and representatives of civil society organizations and NGOs.
