Dozens of master's degree and PhD holders staged a march on Sunday afternoon from Tahrir Square to the Journalists' Syndicate.
"You either appoint us or send us abroad," read a banner they carried. They chanted: "One two, where are the officials?" and "We are not tired".
A presidency source meanwhile promised to appoint them in 10 days.
Several security officials surrounded them to try to convince them to break up their protest. A major general told them that the protest is a gross violation of the law. He threatened to arrest the protesters if they did not leave within 10 minutes.
