The majority of foreign companies in the field of oil and natural gas development and exploration are committed to their Egyptian investments, said Minister of Petroleum Abdullah Ghorab.
At an event organized by Shell two days ago to mark 100 years of operating in Egypt, Ghorab told Al-Masry Al-Youm that company officials are chiefly concerned about the security situation in Egypt but are prepared to develop their projects as planned.
Ghorab also said that soliciting new bids will help attract more investments to the field.
Ahmed Atallah, chairman of Shell Egypt, said his company is committed to investing in the field of petroleum and natural gas exploration, adding that its operations are mainly carried out in the Western Desert and Nile Delta.
