Palace demonstrators extend sit-in

Demonstrators prepared to continue their sit-in into the night in front of the presidential palace on Friday evening, assembling tents and laying down blankets for protesters.

Protesters said their main demands were for President Mohamed Morsy to repeal the 22 November constitutional declaration and to abandon plans for a referendum on the draft constitution, planned for 15 December.

Some protesters erected barricades and gathered stones, amid rumors that a large number of supporters of Morsy were on their way to the sit-in.

The civil forces participating in the sit-in said they hold Morsy responsible for any attempts  break up sit-in by force.

On Wednesday, at least six people were killed and hundreds injured when a group of Morsy's supporters tried to forcibly break up a sit-in in front of the palace.
