Pakistan removes former leader Musharraf from travel ban

A Pakistani court on Thursday ordered to remove former military ruler Pervez Musharraf's name from a no-fly list in 15 days' time, his lawyer said.

"The court has allowed our appeal and ordered to strike down Musharraf's name from the Exit Control List. The order will be executed after 15 days," said Farogh Naseem.

He has said he wants the travel ban lifted so he can visit his sick mother in Dubai, but many in Pakistan fear it is an attempt to flee the country to avoid a series of criminal cases against him dating back to 1999-2008.

In March, Musharraf was indicted for treason for imposing an emergency rule in 2007.
