Six people were arrested in Minya on charges of killing two officers and injuring 11 others in an attempt to break into the Mallawi Police Department.
Security forces continue to apprehend suspects allegedly linked to violence following the overthrow of ousted President Mohamed Morsy in July, after raiding Delga, an Islamist stronghold in the governorate, last week.
Thirty-eight other new suspects were also arrested on charges of attacking police departments and churches in Minya following the dispersal of the pro-Morsy sit-ins in Rabaa al-Adaweya and Giza's al-Nahda Square mid-August.
In addition, nine people were also arrested for violating the curfew.
The suspects were arrested in cities across Minya, including Adwa, Matay, Beni Mazar, Mallawi, Minya and Dirmwas.
