Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding (OTMT) announced that it has received an extension to the management contract of the Lebanese mobile telecommunications operator "Alfa" with the Republic of Lebanon for a period of one additional month until 30 September 2014.
OTMT said it remains committed to playing a positive role in the development of the mobile sector in Lebanon.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunications, OTMT said it will pursue Alfa's growth policy that has been implemented since 2009, which is a strategic sector for economic progress in Lebanon.
OTMT is a holding company that has investments in companies with operations mainly in Egypt, North Korea, Pakistan, Lebanon and other North African and Middle Eastern countries.
The activities of OTMT are mainly divided into its GSM, Media and Technology, and Cable businesses. The GSM activities include mobile telecommunications operations in Egypt, North Korea and Lebanon.
