Operating hours and ticket prices for Cairo’s Light Rail Transit

Egypt’s new Light Rail Transit aims to improve public transportation in the country, connecting Cairo with the New Administrative Capital through a network includes 19 stations.

It starts from Adly Mansour station in al-Salam and extends through multiple stations, including Obour, Mostaqbal, al-Shorouk, New Heliopolis, Badr, al-Roubiki, Hadayek al-Asimah, al-Asimah Airport, and the City of Arts and Culture.

In addition to a branch line heading towards the 10th of Ramadan City, passing through the stations of the Industrial Zone and the Knowledge City. The route will be completed until the 10th of Ramadan in the fourth phase of the project.

The stations of the third phase include the Cathedral of the Nativity station, the Strategic Command, the International Sports City, and the Central Capital, an interchange station with the high-speed electric train.

 

Ticket prices

Light Rail Transit ticket prices vary according to the number of stations, as tickets start from LE10 for a distance of up to three stations, and reach LE20 for more than seven stations.

Monthly subscriptions range from LE300 for a distance of up to three stops and up to LE 600 for more than seven stops, with unlimited coverage for trips throughout the month.

 

Operating times

The Light Rail Transit operates daily from 5:30 am to 11:30 p.m.
