
Manchester City secured their place in the Carabao Cup final after a convincing 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, completing a dominant semi-final performance, Youm7 reported.
City entered the second leg with a 2-0 advantage from the first encounter, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
The hosts wasted no time, as Egyptian star Omar Marmoush opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match.
Marmoush doubled the lead in the 29th minute, showcasing a clinical finishing.
The lead was further extended by Tijjani Reijnders, who netted the third goal in the 32nd minute, effectively ending the contest before halftime.
Newcastle United managed a consolation goal in the second half through Anthony Elanga in the 62nd minute.
Manchester City are now set to face Arsenal—who overcame Chelsea in the other semi-final—in the final on March 22nd.
