Oman evacuated 113 Omani citizens from Egypt on Monday, using a special military aircraft headed for Muscat, as several Arab embassies also evacuated their nationals from Egypt for fear of the repercussions of ongoing unrest.
Airport officials said delegates from the Omani embassy followed procedures through Tiger Aviation Services, as 13 passengers carrying diplomatic passports left on board the military aircraft flying from Cairo International Airport earlier on Monday.
Despite the relative calm amongst passenger traffic at the Cairo airport, several embassies are reportedly assisting their citizens in leaving Egypt – although on an individual level, unlike the collective evacuations Qatar and Oman have launched.
