Number of foreign workers in Egypt declining

The total number of foreigners working in the private sector and investment in Egypt has declined during 2012 to reach 16,713 compared to 18,234 in 2011.
 
The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in a report on Sunday, that Asian foreigners who work in Egypt make up about 32 percent of total foreign workers with close to 5,438, followed by Arab workers at 4,882, European and American workers with 4,709, and finally African workers with 161.
 
The report pointed out that the highest number of foreign workers are technicians and specialists assistants with 24.5 percent, followed by those working in legislation, senior officials and managers with 23 percent, 16.6 percent for craftsmen, and finally scientific professions with 11.9 percent.
 
The countries with the most foreign workers in Egypt is led by Palestine, both in the private and investment sectors with 19.7 percent, followed by Bangladesh with 12.2 percent, 8 percent for India, and 7.7 percent for England.
