Younis Makhyoun, chief of the Salafi-oriented Nour Party, has claimed the Muslim Brotherhood is paving the way for more violence in Egypt.
He also added that while the Brotherhood did not have links to ongoing street violence in Egypt, it was facilitating it.
Makhyoun told Bawabet al-Fateh website, affiliated to the Salafi Dawa in Alexandria, that the Brotherhood has fallen into a "moral trap."
"The real downfall of the [Brotherhood] is the moral trap that it fell into," he claimed. "The Brotherhood has excelled in spreading rumors, insults and inciting betrayal."
The Brotherhood forgot about the Prophet Mohamed's teachings, he continued.
“The behaviour of the Muslim Brotherhood has offended the whole Islamic movement. The Nour Party selected its direction in the public's interest."
Relations between the Nour Party and Brotherhood deteriorated since the former joined army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's roadmap and constitutional assembly.
