Nour in Mubarak’s home village

The founder of the Ghad Party Ayman Nour, and a contender in the previous presidential election, visited the village of Kafr Meselha, President Mubarak’s birth place yesterday. Nour also visited el-Masaee el-Mashkoura Association and School, President Mubarak’s primary school as part of his door-knocking campaign.

The objective of visiting President Mubarak’s home village is to highlight that my campaign will encompass all of Egypt, said Nour. Describing the people’s reception as wonderful, he added, "I was not harassed by security forces … I cannot believe what I have seen."

At the school, Nour delivered a speech in celebration of orphan’s day, and said he had began the dialogue about constitutional amendments and the changing priorities of youth in the villages.

Nour added that he had already visited 300 villages in one year, and that he intends to visit Monufiya again because of its large size and importance.

He was planning to visit Mansoura but decided to postpone his visit in order to not coincide with ElBaradei’s trip. "I’m from Mansoura and I wanted ElBaradei to be well-received there," he added.

Nour reiterated that the visits him and ElBaradei are making to the villages are with the same purpose of mobilizing support for change.
