Opposition Ghad Party founder Ayman Nour was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering from a mild heart attack. He stayed in the hospital’s intensive care unit where he remained under observation for 24 hours.
Nour had been taking part in a demonstration in front of Interior Ministry headquarters to protest against the alleged murder of a young man by police in Alexandria.
Doctors advised Nour to remain under observation for a further 48 hours, but the opposition leader insisted on leaving after only one day.
