Ministry of Education spokesperson Ahmed Khairy said on Wednesday that the ministry had launched a ‘Teacher Online’ initiative on Thursday to support pupils in North Sinai whose education is disrupted during the major counter-terrorist military operation ‘Sinai 2018’.
In accordance with Minister of Education Tarek Shawky’s directives, the initiative aims to continue providing education for children in the region.
Chief of the Public Education Sector Reda Hegazi praised the initiative, referring to the necessity of utilizing the internet and social media networks to conduct lessons and enable instant interactions between the teachers and students.
Hegazi noted that teachers participating in the initiative will prepare explanatory educational videos on the school syllabus in cooperation with guides from the Directorate of Education in North Sinai.
