The For the Love of Egypt (FLE) electoral list competing in the parliamentary elections slated for October 18 has said it won 15 seats in seven provinces after no other list fielded candidates in the same constituencies before nominations closed on Saturday.
Emad Gad, a political analyst and a spokesperson for the FLE list, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the list won the seats in the provinces of Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.
A source at the High Elections Commission, however, said that the list still has to obtain five percent of votes in every constituency to declare an uncontested victory.
The FLE is composed of several activists and political figures, as well as political movements, including former Information Minister Ossama Heikal, former Youth Minister Taher Abu Zeid and chairman of the Conservatives Party Akmal Qurtam.
The House of Representatives consists of 568 seats, including 448 elected individually and 120 elected through list-based candidacies.
