A court in Sharqiya sentenced nine people to three years in prison on Tuesday for their involvement in violence, as well as their affiliation with the banned Muslim Brotherhood organization.
The verdict is related to protests in 2014 by supporters of former president Mohamed Morsi in10th of Ramadan City which turned violent.
Thousands of Muslim Brotherhood leaderships and backers have been sentenced to jail over charges of sabotage and breaking the protest law introduced following Morsi’s ouster in 2013.
