The Nile Valley Authority for River Navigation, the control authority for navigation between Sudan and Egypt, announced in a statement on Wednesday that it is reducing transport fares for passengers and increasing the number of trips between the two countries on the Nile.
Two trips, rather than one, will be organized weekly from the High Dam Port in Aswan to Halfa Port in Sudan.
Ticket prices have been reduced to LE200 from LE275. The fees for the transport of goods may also be reduced by up to 25 percent, depending on the decision of head of the authority.
Development of the High Dam and Halfa ports will be made through the construction of new sidewalks, as well as by providing the two ports with modern shipping equipment.
Businessmen and interested parties can invest in the sector by renting goods and passenger ships belonging to the authority.
