
A tourist ship carrying 28 tourists of various nationalities on a Nile River cruise ran aground on Saturday in Aswan Governorate, southern Upper Egypt.
The Aswan Operations Room received a notification of the incident occurring at the Mansouriya Marina in Kom Ombo.
Authorities in the governorate successfully deployed the necessary equipment to move the tourist boat and evacuate the tourists until the grounding issue was resolved and the boat moved.
Aswan Governorate officials revealed that the cause of the incident being the boat deviating from its tourist route, and that the matter was dealt with by the relevant authorities.
