Presidential candidate Amr Moussa said on Monday that the next Egyptian president will not win the election by more than 52 percent of the vote due to the high level of competition in the race.
At a meeting in his office on Monday, Moussa also said that the military council should not extend the six-month transition period, and that the presidential elections should be held first, then a new constitution devised, and ultimately, the parliamentary elections held so that all parties have ample time to prepare for them.
“The Muslim Brotherhood is the most organized political group,” he said. “That is why we should give a chance to other parties to prepare themselves.”
“The Egyptian people will not choose another dictator,” he added. “The new president will only serve for a term of four years.”
