Three people were killed and 27 others were injured on Friday during a collision between a truck with a passenger bus on the Farafra-Bahariya Oasis road.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were transported to Farafra Central Hospital.
Security services in the New Valley Governorate received a notification on the accident which occurred early on Friday.
Ambulances, civil protection forces and police rushed to the scene.
Medical staff in all specialties were summoned to Farafra Central Hospital to tend to the injured and provide them with the necessary treatment, said the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in the New Valley, Ahmed Mahrous, adding that critical cases will be transferred to Assiut University Hospital.
Governor of the New Valley, Mohamed al-Zamlout followed up on the incident and instructed providing medical care to the injured, and the speedy disbursement of compensation to them and to the families of the deceased.
