Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad has affirmed the necessity of benefiting from the waste management law that is based on encouraging a circular economy, revitalizing the supervisory role of the Waste Management Regulatory Authority and compiling an updated list of institutions working in the waste management field in the country.
Fouad made the remarks during her meeting with staffers at the Waste Management Regulatory Authority to discuss workflow at the authority and the current challenges it is facing.
The minister said new investment opportunities are set to be announced in the coming months in the waste management field.
In this regard, she urged the Waste Management Regulatory Authority to have its role focused on supporting relevant technology and scientific research as well as attracting investments and funds with a view to advancing the waste management system in Egypt.
