Egypt’s new administrative capital one of world’s mega-projects: UK Business Insider

In a report published on the most prominent projects being conducted to establish new cities around the world, the UK Business Insider website shed light on the new administrative capital currently being established in Egypt.

The report highlighted eight mega-projects that will transform world’s greatest cities by 2030, and mentioned “New Cairo Capital”, predicting it will change the future of Egypt.

The new city will be a 270-square-mile hub with 21 residential districts to accommodate five million people. It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches, a 5,000-seat conference center, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities and a park that is projected to be the world’s largest.

The report noted that China Fortune Land Development contributed $20 billion to the project in late 2016.

Housing Minister Mostafa Modbouly told BBC the mega-project will cost $45 Billion and be completed in 2022.

The UK Business Insider mentioned other ongoing capital expansion development projects around the world, namely in Shanghai, Paris, Istanbul, London and New York City.
