Director Nevin Shalaby was awarded best documentary film director for her film “Freedom” at the Mumbai International Film Festival.
Shalaby’s film “Al-Auda” was awarded best short film at the same festival last year.
“'Freedom' is a Dutch production,” she said, adding that this was the film's first time to participate in a festival. “It is also nominated for the Taharqa International Prize in Sudan.”
