Nelly Karim continues filming 3rd season of ‘Leh Laa’

Egyptian actress Nelly Karim continues shooting on the third season of “Leh Laa” (Why not), in which she takes the lead role.

The series tell the story of Nada, who wants to adopt a child but faces many difficulties along the way. It is part of the “Shahid Al-Oula” social dramas, and raises the issue of adoption in its second season by writer Maryam Naoum and director Maryam Abu Auf.

Naoum explained that the series tackles topics such as rebellion, and asks why we have to abide by what society tells us instead of rebelling on what it imposes.

The third season touches on life after divorce and women remarrying, with one character rejecting the marriage of his mother but accepting his father marrying another.

The idea was developed by Dina Negm, who wrote the script and dialogue in cooperation with Magdy Amin, Rania Hassan and Salma Abdel Wahab, through a narration workshop and under the supervision of Naoum.

The series stars Menna Shalaby, Ahmed Hatem, Murad Makram, Maha Abu Auf, Sarah Abdel Rahman, Selim Mostafa, Mona Ahmed Zaher, Donia Maher, Firas Saeed, Yara Gibran, Tamer Nabil, and Reem Hegab.

Karim has also been busy working on “Omla Nadra” (Rare Currency) which is scheduled to be shown during the upcoming Ramadan drama season 2023. It co-stars Gamal Suleiman, Kamal Abu-Ria among others, and is written by Medhat al-Adl, directed by Mohamed al-Adl, and produced by Gamal al-Adl.
