Negotiations with Suez Cement workers fail

Negotiations between the Suez Cement company and the workers over the disbursement of annual profit shares that amount to a 12-month wage have failed.

Labor sources within the company said that although leaders of the Third Army in Suez intervened to resolve the problem, the meeting with the management, the Manpower Ministry and the Labor Union did not result in anything.

The sources said it was previously agreed to disburse a 12-month wage with a maximum of LE80,000, and to devise a new agreement form next year, but none of this was done.

They said the workers will not give up the LE7 million that the company wants to deduct from the annual profits.

The workers went on strike for two weeks, but returned to work after the intervention of the army leaders.
