NCHR forms council to implement revolution demands

Mohamed Fayeq, vice president of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR), announced the formation of a national council to help the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces implement the demands of the revolution.

The new council includes 150 members representing various political forces.

He also said the NCHR laid down a strategy to get rid of Mubarak regime remnants, explaining that the first phase of the strategy aims to purge the media of corrupt leaders, appoint governors not loyal to the former regime and compensate those wounded during the revolution.

“The second phase aims to ensure the success of the transition period and monitor new legislation,” he said, adding that he is against the new political rights law, as it was not presented to the public for discussion.
