Salah Salam, responsible for Sinai at the National Council for Human Rights, has called on President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to postpone parliamentary elections in the Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah constituencies in light of the deteriorating security situation in North Sinai, pointing to the assassination of Mostafa Abdel Rahman, the Nour Party candidate in Arish.
Salam suggested either to resume the elections once the area is declared free of terrorism or to leave those constituencies unrepresented in Parliament.
