National Center for Translation offers 25-50% discount on publications at Cairo International Book Fair

The National Center for Translation and Publishing is offering a 25 percent discount on all its publications available in the Cairo International Book Fair and a 50 percent discount on children’s books.

The National Center for Translation and Publishing, headed by Karma Samy, is participating in the 54th session of the Cairo International Book Fair with more than 1,100 books in general knowledge, philosophy, psychology, religions, social sciences, languages, pure sciences, applied sciences and technology, arts, literature, geography, history, archeology and translations.

This year sees a wide range of recent books from the center, available for sale for the first time at the fair.

These include: “Piety and Activism in Egypt: Reflections on Framing, Motivations, Contradiction and Desire”, written by Leslie Lewis Robin and translated by Fadwa Kamal Abdel Rahman; “Avant-garde Orientalism: The Eastern ‘Other’ in Twentieth-Century Travel Narrative and Poetry”, written by David LeHardy Sweet, and translated by Ali al-Ghafary; “Biomaterials: Principles and Applications” translated by Atef Youssef Mahmoud; “The Effective Executive” written by Peter Drucker and translated by Ahmed Mahmoud; “The Popes Of Egypt: The Coptic Papacy in Islamic Egypt, 641-1517” written by Mark N. Swanson and translated by Magdy Gerges.

Works of fiction include: “The Orchard of Lost Souls” written by Nadifa Mohamed and translated by Samir Mahfouz Bashir; “Water, Peace, and War: Confronting the Global Water Crisis” written by Brahma Chellaney and translated by Hamdy Abu Kaila; and “Political Emotions: Why Love Matters for Justice” written by Martha Nussbaum and translated by Ali al-Ghafary; The Philosophy Of Praxis: Marx, Lukács And The Frankfurt School” written by Andrew Feenberg and translated by Karm Abu Sahly.

 

Opening January 25th

The official Facebook page of the Cairo International Book Fair 2023 announced that the official opening of the 54th edition will be on January 25th.

The CIBF opens its doors to the public daily from 10 am to eight pm starting from January 26 to February 6, except for Thursday and Friday, starting from 10 am until nine pm.

Reservation will be online, with the link to be posted on the official Facebook page of the CIBF.

Jordan will participate in the 54th session as a guest of honor, and the late writer Salah Jahin will be the personality honored this year by the fair, with children’s writer Kamel Kilani honored during the Children’s Fair as a pioneer of children’s literature not only in Egypt but also in the Arab world.
