A security source at the Ministry of Interior on Saturday said that claims from the Facebook page of a Muslim Brotherhood affiliated TV channel saying that prisoners at Borg al-Arab are suffering from poor health due to negligence were ‘groundless.’
The ministry’s prison hospitals are equipped with the latest medical devices and well-trained staff to provide the best possible health care to the prisoners, the source asserted.
It added that the hospitals receive medical convoys to conduct prisoner examinations, provide them with the necessary treatment and implement anti-coronavirus preventive measures.
The Muslim Brotherhoods claims are an attempt to entice public opinion against the Egyptian state, the source said.
