Cairo Criminal Court postponed, Thursday, the retrial of former President Hosni Mubarak, his two sons Alaa and Gamal Mubarak, fugitive businessman Hussein Salem, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and six senior security officials to 26 April.
The former president and Adly are accused of inciting the killing of protesters during the 25 January revolution. The junior Mubaraks and Salem are facing corruption charges in the gas deal with Israel.
The defense of former Central Security Sector head Ahmed Ramzy will continue their argument on 26 April, the court said.
"I have never seen anyone in the whole world who deals as softly with citizens like the Egyptian police do," Ramzy's lawyer Medhat Nabil Salem said in Thursday's argument.
"Ordering the use of weapons [during the revolution] was not made by any of the defendants in the dock," Salem said. "Orders were to keep weapons standby in case any risk occurs or aggression takes place against the Interior Ministry."
Salem also argued the defendants did not order the direct shooting of protesters.
