Former President Hosni Mubarak left for the United Arab Emirates a few hours ago, Egyptian diplomatic sources said today.
In statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm, the sources said Mubarak boarded a private plane with his family in Sharm el-Sheikh and headed to the UAE.
Mubarak and his family left Cairo for Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday prior to Vice President Omar Suleiman's announcement that Mubarak had resigned after almost three decades in power.
