Former president Hosni Mubarak, his two sons Alaa and Gamal, ex-interior minister Habib al-Adly and his six aides will be present during their court sessions on Monday, security sources have said.
Sources from the International Medical Center where Mubarak is staying have said the former president is in good health, particularly after he received several of his family members during the recent Muslim holiday. Mubarak is ready for the trial, the sources added.
In related news, Kuwaiti lawyers who arrived in Cairo to assist in Mubarak’s defense have not yet obtained the required permits from the Justice Ministry.
Meanwhile, Faisal al-Oteidi, one of the Kuwaiti lawyers, said his presence at the trial is merely a gesture of support for Mubarak. Oteida expressed appreciation for Mubarak’s support during Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in the early 90’s.
