Ousted President Hosni Mubarak has been transferred to the presidential suite of the International Medical Center (IMC) “as it is easy to secure,” said an informed source. The source added that the hospital suite was previously built especially for Mubarak and that it is used for VIPs.
The source indicated difficulties of placing Mubarak in any other wing.
“The center has an occupancy rate of around 20 percent,” he claimed, “and therefore, his presence in the presidential suite will be more secure.”
Interior Minister Mansour al-Essawy said that police and the military successfully transferred Mubarak to the IMC, located on the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, following the Criminal Court’s decision that he be transferred after the first session of his trial, which took place at the Police Academy Wednesday morning.
Essawy told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the plan to transfer Mubarak from Sharm el-Sheikh to the Police Academy was 100 percent successful and that it was carried out with the utmost secrecy.
